Corporate Wellness Programs
for New Parents

Empower new parents pre- and post-maternity leave. Increase productivity and retain valuable talent.
A mutually beneficial solution for both company and employee.

7 in 10 new parents lose an average of
133 full (8-hour) nights of sleep during baby’s first year.

Source: Snuz Survey

By offering corporate wellness initiatives to educate new parent employees on their baby’s sleep,
you can help reduce that number.

Research on sleep deprivation and fatigue has shown:

  • Decreased performance on tasks requiring reaction time, short term memory, and vigilance (Source)

  • Decline in cognitive functioning - thinking, remembering and concentration (Source)

  • Slowing of responses and error of commission (Source)

➡️ Bottom line…employees who aren’t getting enough sleep are more likely to make errors, have poor concentration, have increased anxiety and depression, communicate poorly, take longer to complete tasks and have a more compromised immune system.

The cost of sleep deprived employees

According to the National Safety Council (NSC), tired employees experience decreased productivity, leading to estimated losses of $1,200 to $3,100 per employee annually. Fatigued employees cost the average U.S. employer overseeing 1,000 workers approximately $1 million annually, with $272,000 attributed to missing work and $776,000 to being present but not functioning well at work.

Of course fatigue can be due to other factors besides babies keeping their parents up all night, but if a significant number of your workforce is 25-40, this is something to think about!

Use the National Safety Council’s Fatigue Calculator to estimate the cost of fatigue in your workplace:

“Employees who believe that management is concerned about them as a whole person – not just an employee – are more productive, more satisfied, more fulfilled. Satisfied employees mean satisfied customers, which leads to profitability.”
